मनुष्य के द्वारा बनाया गया अथवा पहले बना हुआ भवन जिसमें वह निवास करता है प्राणी शरीर की तरह भवन भी पाँच तत्वों पर आधारित होता है। जिस तरह मनुष्य का शरीर पाँच तत्वों पर आधारित होता है, बिल्कुल उसी तरह भवन भी पाँच तत्वों पर आधारित होता है। यदि भवन के पाँच तत्वों को संतुलित कर लिया जाता है तो मनुष्य द्वारा किये जा रहे प्रयासों में सफलता मिलती है। भवन को वास्तु के अनुसार करवाने के लिये चारों दिशाओं के बारे में सम्पूर्ण जानकारी होनी चाहिये। इस पोस्ट के माध्यम से हम आपको चारों दिशाओं के बार में पूर्ण जानकारी उपलब्ध करायेंगे जिसका ध्यान करके आप अपने भवन के वास्तु को संतुलित कर सकेंगे। सबसे पहले हम बात करेंगे पूर्व दिशा की, पूर्व दिशा किन-किन रूपों में आ सकती है।
1. हरा रंग - इस दिशा का अनुकूल रंग हरा होता है, यानि कि आपको इस दिशा में हरा रंग करना चाहिये और यदि यह हरा रंग किसी दूसरी दिशा में चला जाता है तो पूर्व दिशा के साथ-साथ अन्य उस दिशा में वास्तु असंतुलन हो जाता है जिस दिशा में हरा रंग गया है।
2. स्टील - कोई भी वस्तु जो स्टील धातु की होती है वह ईस्ट दिशा होती है, चाहे वह बर्तन हो, फर्नीचर हो या फिर कुछ और।
3- पत्थर के रूप - पत्थर या पत्थर से बनी कोई भी वस्तु, स्टेचू या कोई पत्थर निर्मित हैण्डीक्राफ्रट, ये सभी ईस्ट दिशा को दर्शाते हैं।
4. लम्बाई वाली आकृति - किसी भी प्रकार की लम्बाई वाली पेन्टिंग, लिफ्रट, फोटो फ्रेम या ऐसी कोई भी वस्तु जिसकी लम्बाई ज्यादा हो यानि वह लम्बी प्रतीत होती हो ईस्ट कहलाती है।

5. इन्द्र देव - किसी तरह की पोजिशन में इन्द्र देव की फोटो ईस्ट को दर्शाती है।
6. सूर्य देव - सूर्य देव की फोटो, मूर्ति किसी भी तरह की सूर्य फोटो ईस्ट डायरेक्शन को दर्शाती है।
7. लकड़ी - भारी लकड़ी का कोई भी वस्तु ईस्ट डायरेक्शन को दर्शाती है।
8. पेड़ - पेड़ देख लिये, छोटे या बड़े पेड़, या गार्डन किसी भी रूप में किसी भी तरह के पेड़ भी ईस्ट को ही दर्शाते हैं।
इस तरह आपने देखा कि उपरोक्त सम्भावित प्रतीक हैं जो ईस्ट डायरेक्शन को दर्शाते हैं, इन्हें देखकर आपको ईस्ट डायरेक्शन के विभिन्न रूपों को पहचानने में मदद मिलती है जिसके आधार पर समस्या को पहचानकर उपयुक्त रैमेडी कर सकते हैं।
