अनावश्यक वस्तुओं को रखने के लिये यदि घर में एक नियत स्थान बना हो तो फालतू चीजें घर में यहाँ-वहाँ नही फैलती हैं, जिससे घर भी साफ-सुथरा रहता है और चीजें भी व्यवस्थित रूप से रखी रहती हैं। अब प्रश्न यह उठता है कि यह स्थान यानि स्टोर किस दिशा में बनाना चाहिये, क्योंकि वास्तु में दिशाओं का बहुत ही महत्व होता है। वास्तु में तीन चीजों का मुख्य रूप से ध्यान किया जाता है, पहली दिशा, दूसरा रंग और तीसरी आकृति। इन तीनों का ही मुख्य रूप से ध्यान करके वास्तु को संतुलन में रखा जाता है।
इन सबका यदि ध्यान रखा जाये तो स्टोर बनाने के लिये तीन दिशायें आती हैं परन्तु स्टोर बनाने के लिये जो सबसे उपयुक्त दिशा होती है वह पूर्व-दक्षिण-पूर्व। यह दिशा भ्रष के अन्तर्गत आती है। इस दिशा में नकारात्मक ऊर्जा का वास होता है, जिस कारण से यहाँ पर किसी भी तरह की महत्वपूर्ण गतिविधि नही की जाती। स्टोर रूम जोकि कोई विशेष महत्वपूर्ण गतिविधि नही है इसलिये इस दिशा में स्टोर रूम बनाना लाभप्रद रहता है।
