विशुद्ध चक्र मुख्य रूप से हार्मोन से सम्बन्धित होता है। आंतरिक श्वसन क्रिया इसका मूल कार्य है। यह चक्र 16 कलाओं से युक्त होता है जिनका अभी उल्लेख किया जायेगा।
विशुद्ध चक्र मनुष्य को सम्प्रेषण, भावनात्मक रूप से स्वतंत्रता एवम् मानसिक रूप से उन्मुक्तता जैसे गुण प्रदान करता है। जो व्यक्ति इस चक्र को सक्रिय करने में सक्षम हो जाता है वह व्यक्ति सत्यनिष्ठ, कुशल, मधुर वाणी युक्त हो जाता है। साथ ही वह अपने जीवन से अहंकार का नाश करके अहंकार से मुक्त जीवन ग्रहण करने में कामयाब हो जाता है।
ऐसा व्यक्ति अपनी भूख, प्यास और विपरीत मौसम के प्रभाव से कदाचित भी व्याकुल या प्रभावित नहीं होता है।
एक पौराणिक कथा में वर्णन किया गया है कि भगवान श्रीकृष्ण सोलह कलाओं से युक्त थे, जोकि निम्न प्रकार हैं-
इन 16 कलाओं से भगवान श्रीकृष्ण सुसज्जित थे। विशुद्धि चक्र यही 16 कलायें विकसित करने का सार्मथ्य देता है।
